Jessie Kate Bui is a designer, educator, and storyteller with specialisms in costume design and personality psychology. Project director and co-author of Talking Threads: Costume Design for Entertainment Art (Design Studio Press), in the past Jessie Kate has instructed History of Fashion at Art Center College of Design, and mentored groups and individuals in costume design for animation, games, and comics.
With a particular passion for developing and visualizing original stories, Jessie Kate created a new course "Motivated Design" to help independent creators design their projects using personality psychology as a tool. She also created The Costume District discord server where she offers tips, resources, and holds live chats twice a week.
When not teaching or freelancing, she can be found developing original story pitches along with her husband Tong Bui, or brainstorming new books and design projects with her friends.
